Life in Indonesia for an average student is much different than in the U.S. For one, there are no football uniforms to be found anywhere at the local mall. So what do students wear? They either show up to school wearing sweats or their favorite team's jersey and hope for the best, or they invest in a common uniform that their school provides, usually made out of polyester and cotton. For some reason, students don't get excited about going to school like we do here in America, but it's a necessity nonetheless. If done frequently, these ideas will actually help you learn more, retain more information, and increase your overall GPA at the same time! Work With A Study Group Or A Partner By working with a study group or a partner in class, you can share notes with one another in order to get a better understanding of the subject matter. It also helps when you're stuck on a problem at home and can ask your classmate for help when they're available. Chances are they've had the same problem before and are willing to help. If you don't have a partner to work with, consider using the study groups section of your school's website. Helpful Tip: Try to learn more from your study group or partner than what is already on the assignment sheet. If you are all learning the same information, but one student discovers a better way to explain it, share that information with the class. Play Games In Class If you are bored in class, try playing games with your classmates if it isn't considered inappropriate by your teacher. For example, playing Hangman or tic-tac-toe during class can be fun and keep your mind fresh for learning new material. Don't Be Afraid To Challenge Your Teacher If you're having trouble learning a concept, don't be afraid to challenge your teacher. Ask questions. It's their job to provide the information to you and help you maximize your understanding. If you have a question, ask it! You have nothing to lose and the potential for gaining a better understanding of the subject matter. They may even give you some extra credit for it! Challenge your peers as well if they seem confused about a concept. If this isn't an option, consider reaching out to them on social media or asking them after class has ended. Be Passionate About Your Class If you're passionate about the subject matter, it will come through in your homework and show more effort throughout the course. This can be especially helpful for some majors like Science where there is a lot of information to memorize and retain.
